StratBridge's StratTix Helps Sports Franchises, Entertainment Venues Increase Ticket Sales, Revenues
Data analytics tool gives customers such as the Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins a real-time snapshot of per-event ticket sales
BOSTON, Mass., April. 4, 2006 — StratBridge today unveiled StratTix, a new data analytics tool that helps sports franchises, entertainment venues and other admissions-based operations maximize ticket sales and increase revenue. StratTix is the first tool that lets users quickly cull ticket information from a variety of sources to gain a real-time view of ticket inventories and trends prior to events, so sales teams can develop strategies on the fly to fill seats.
Professional sports franchises such as the Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins have chosen StratTix to convert static ticket data into dynamic information they can act upon to fill unsold seats in advance of home games. Based on StratBridge's proprietary StratBridge.net data analytics platform, StratTix gives sales teams a graphical representation of the venue that lets users drill down to individual seat sales information in just two mouse clicks.
Managing expiring inventory
Expiring inventory, such as event tickets, airplane tickets, hotel rooms, car rentals, etc. poses a challenge to sales managers who need to keep track of unsold items. Gathering real-time data to develop promotions often requires more resources than many managers can provide in a short timeframe to make informed decisions.
"Previously, real-time data collection was impossible," said Lorraine Spadaro, vice president of technology and eBusiness for the TD Banknorth Garden and the Boston Bruins. "We'd get data from various ticket sources that sometimes was several days old. So we often had to make assumptions, which isn't the best way to fill the arena. StratTix gives us in-depth mouse click analysis so we have the most current information for making crucial marketing decisions."
StratTix provides sports teams and entertainment venue managers a variety of strategic advantages, including the ability to:
see previously hidden patterns and trends within an event or stretch of events;
track the impact marketing campaigns such as advertising, promotions and direct mail have on sales; and,
monitor price effects visually and quantitatively.
Using StratTix, venue managers can export features to publish data via Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint or as a .PDF file. They can also secure logins to ensure users only access the data to which they have rights. StratTix also provides a broad range of multicolor visualization options including sold, availability, paid percentage, attendance and full season paid percentage.
"Repeatedly filling a venue to capacity is a challenge for many organizations," said StratBridge Founder and CEO Matt Marolda. "StratTix takes the guesswork out of the process. Sales staff no longer must wait for the box office or ticketing systems to produce 'up-to-date' ticket information. Instead, they can use StratTix to collect the data in real time and automatically see what seats are still unfilled. That real-time access lets them make smarter decisions about how to fill unsold seats."
